Scott Sandler
President and CEO
Former vice president of marketing for Novas, Sandler has over 18 years of experience in EDA marketing, applications, and support management with Chrysalis Symbolic Design, Cadence Design Systems, and Gateway Design Automation. Sandler also currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Electronic Design Automation Consortium (EDAC). Sandler holds a BS degree in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Massachusetts.
Yu-Chin Hsu
Vice President of Research & Development
Dr. Yu-Chin Hsu has over 20 years of research and development experience in the EDA industry and academia. He was the head of the synthesis product line for Avant! before joining Novas. Dr. Hsu has held faculty positions at the University of California and Tsing Hua University in Taiwan. He has published over 100 technical papers in either journals or conference proceedings. Dr. Hsu co-received an IEEE Young Outstanding Author award in 1991. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Taiwan University and Masters of Science degree and Ph. D. from the University of Illinois.
Oz Levia
Vice President of Product Marketing
Oz is a 20 year veteran of the EDA and semi conductor industry. Prior to joining Novas, Oz worked at Synopsys, most recently in a corporate strategic role with responsibility over growth strategies in the areas of verification, ESL, DFM, and IP. Before working at Synopsys Oz was the co-founder and CTO of Improv Systems, Inc., a DSP IP company. In the years before founding Improv, Oz was active in the EDA tools market working on synthesis, simulation, and intellectual property products. Oz authored numerous papers and tutorials on a wide range of subjects such as VHDL simulation, synthesis, gate level timing (VITAL), and IP use in system design. With two other co-editors, Oz founded and published a book series (11 titles in print) focused on electronic modeling. Oz holds a BS (with high distinction) and MS (with distinction) in computer science from the University of Minnesota and Boston College respectively and is currently pursuing a JD degree from Santa Clara University Law School.
Bill Shepard
Vice President of Sales
Former director of eastern region sales for Novas, Shepard has over 20 years of experience in EDA sales and executive management with companies including Summit Design, Array Technologies, Integrated Measurement Systems, Racal-Dana, and Tektronix. Shepard holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Connecticut State University.
Gary Kiaski
VP, North America Sales
Gary Kiaski has over 24 years of sales and sales management experience in the EDA industry. Prior to Novas, he held management positions at Tharas, Axis, Innoveda, Synopsys, and Viewlogic. Prior to EDA Gary spent 11 years in the semiconductor industry at Intel.
Paul Gibson
VP, Europe Sales
Paul Gibson brings to Novas over 24 years of Operations and Sales experience in the semiconductor and EDA arena. He has been responsible for establishing many EDA products as the "accepted standard" across the European Electronics industry, and beyond. Through senior positions in Cadence, Intel, Synchronicity, European Silicon Structures, Virage, Viewlogic and Veda, Paul has helped his customers find solutions to their challenges. Paul has a Cert Ed, a BA in Mathematics, Electronics and Computing Science, and received his MSc. in Electronics from Southampton University in 1982.
Chris Soden
Controller
Chris Soden has been with Novas for over six years and has over 20 years of experience in finance and administration. She was formerly controller for Synplicity. Previously, she was Director of Finance & Administration for The Benjamin Group and Financial Administrator for Franson, Hagerty & Associates.
