Title: UNIX/Linux Systems Administrator
Essential Functions
· Performs installation, upgrade, configuration and administration of UNIX and Linux Systems
· Monitors and audits system, network utilization and performance
· Performs systems backup and recovery
· Performs LAN configuration, support and maintenance (hardware and software level)
· Maintains documentation of systems configuration, procedures and practices.
· Provide performance tuning and automation of UNIX/Linux systems and networking
· Participates in supporting users for UNIX/Linux and networking related issues.
· 24x7 on-call
Qualifications:
· 3+ years hands-on experience with SUN Solaris and Red Hat Linux administration
· Hands-on experience with performance tuning/capacity planning of UNIX servers and networking (hardware and software levels)
· Experience with a SNMP-based network systems monitoring tools such as Nagios /MRTG/Hobbit/Zabbix
· Proficiency in Perl and/or shell scripting
· Experience administering NetApp Filer storage
· General knowledge and experience of Open Source Projects
· General network security experience
· Excellent interpersonal/communications skills, both written and verbal
· Experience with virtualization technology (VMWare or Xen) is a plus
· BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent of working experience
