Novas' Verdi Technology Selected As Finalist for Inaugural International Engineering Consortium DesignVision Award
Automated Debug System Nominated for Advanced Innovation In Design Verification
San Jose, Calif., January 10, 2005 - Novas Software, Inc., the leader in debug systems for complex chip designs, today announced that the Novas Verdi™ Automated Debug System has been selected as a finalist in the first annual International Engineeering Consortium (IEC) DesignVision Award program. Winners of the award, which honor achievement in electronic design innovation, will be announced at the DesignCon Conference in Santa Clara, Calif. on February 1, 2005.
Introduced in 2003, the Verdi Automated Debug System broke new ground with its ability to give chip designers unprecedented levels of insight and understanding into design behavior, and thus improve the efficiency and speed by which they can find and correct design errors. Verdi is particularly useful for large, complex designs where there may be significant amounts of legacy and/or unfamiliar design elements for a design team to debug. The system uses a combination of synthesis and formal verification techniques to automatically extract behavior information from design descriptions and simulation results. Verdi works seamlessly within existing design flows, and provides a control point for a complete set of design and analysis tasks during the design verification stage of IC design.
"Verdi's automated tracing technology is a breakthrough innovation that significantly accelerates the design verification process by cutting the manual effort required to understand the causes of design behavior," said Scott Sandler, president and CEO of Novas. "We are honored to be included among the IEC's top choices for innovation in this area and are confident that our technology is representative of the ideals and qualifications which these important awards seek to recognize."
In keeping with its 60-year mission of bringing the highest quality and most innovative forms of education to the industry, the IEC DesignVision Awards recognize leading-edge products and services in the electronic design and semiconductor industries. Like previous IEC honors, the DesignVision Awards recognize companies for recent products and services that have added a new dimension not only to the electronic design industry, but to society as a whole.
